CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER 

Description The primary role of this position is to lead the continuous improvement effort to improve safety performance, product quality, unit cost, and employee performance, utilizing a participative team approach.

-Identifies process inefficiencies and coordinates/facilitates activities using cross-functional resources to eliminate them.
-Coordinates trials with corporate representatives regarding new products, efficiency enhancements, and cost savings. Coordinates and communicates trial schedules with affected department heads and teams acting as a facilitator.
-Works closely with line teams and the Food Safety Manager to develop action plans to address consumer complaints.
-Is a member of the bakery HACCP Team and performs audits/inspections as required to ensure food safety.
-Supports SQF.
-Acts as a champion for safety and works closely with the Safety Manager and safety teams to eliminate accidents.
-Tracks assigned variable labor accounts, ensuring that labor is being utilized efficiently, assigned to the proper account, and is within budget. Assists in the annual budgeting process.
-Supports team and team approach to solving problems. Maintains positive and productive relations with the hourly workforce, union leadership (where unionized), bakery management team, and corporate representatives.
-Acts as a technical resource to Operations Team Leaders.
-Responsible for the 5S Program at the bakery
-All Management functions have the authority and support to shut processes down if there are violations in quality and food safety standards.
-Principal contact to drive the LEAN work environment in the bakery.
-Accountable for providing support to develop and deploy LEO, K-LEAN, and Six-Sigma knowledge and tools across all layers of the site
-Accountable for benchmarking and best practice sharing across the organization
-Responsible to continue ideations with the facility to drive cost savings
-Accountable to support extending the use of lean/improvement tools within Quality, Safety, and Food Safety and for supporting the Reliability process.

Position Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree in technical or business field and 5 years of manufacturing experience in project management or engineering, lean and/or six sigma OR High School diploma/GED and ten (10) years manufacturing experience in project management or engineering, lean and/or six sigma.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites

Preferred Qualifications:
-Masters Degree in technical or business field
-Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
-Demonstrated ability to manage complexity
-Organization and planning skills with the ability to prioritize workloads
-Ability to lead cross functional teams and work with people across all levels of the organization.
-Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others
