SAFETY MANAGER 

Description We have an exiting opportunity for a Safety Manager located at our Cary Bakery. The Safety Manager will ensure that the plant leadership team and all bakery employees understand the value of a proactive safety/health program. Some Responsibilities are:
-Coordinate and document all safety and health training for the plant. Conduct periodic incident analysis to determine trends and areas of concern.
-Develop and execute the direction of the safety teams and the central safety committee.
-Effectively manage workers compensation and participate in claims review meetings with 3rd party administrators.
-Administer the Temporary Transitional (TTD) Duty program. -Maintain regulatory safety and health documentation.
-Work with the Plant Leadership in developing safety and health action plans.
-Work closely with engineering to ensure safety is an integral part of all projects for both new and existing equipment and processes.
-Responsible for budget management.
-Ensure the bakery is current with OSHA regulations and provide direct communications to management regarding OSHA citations and/or OSHA inspections of the facility.
-Interfaces with Corporate Safety to keep abreast of company policies which impact safety programs at the Cary Bakery.
-Implements a standardized strategic safety auditing program to ensure compliance to policies and procedures.

Position Requirements HS diploma or GED with at least 5 years of occupational experience in the safety industry required, or a Bachelor’s degree in safety related discipline with at least three years of occupational experience in the safety industry required.

This position requires sound leadership ability and good communication, organizational and administrative skills.

Personal computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access applications for tracking injuries & OSHA related data are required.
